Soul Asylum & The Lemonheads at The Flood Zone - 1992
Here's a poster for Soul Asylum, The Lemonheads & Failure at The Flood Zone in Shockoe Bottom, November 24th, 1992, right around the height of mainstream success for both headlining bands. Back before Have A Nice Day Cafe took over the spot in the late 90s, The Flood Zone brought some great bands to Richmond. It's probably best known for the weekly Dave Matthews Band shows in the early 90s.

I was there! Back then, I practically lived at the Floodzone. Saw (and met) many artists and got lots of autographs.
ReplyDeleteI saw the Meatmen and Black Market Baby there in 1987 or so. Tesco Vee made fun of Lords of the New Church, who were playing at Rockitz that night. It was HARDCORE. Then I went back to the 'burbs.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I have that Meatmen flyer. Didn't want to scare anyone off in my first month of posts though. ;-) I'll eventually be posting some of the hardcore/punk flyers I have too.
