On April 27th, 1975 (37 years ago today), KISS played the Richmond Arena with openers Rush, Brian Auger and Oblivion Express & M-S Funk. KISS was supporting Dressed To Kill, Rush was supporting Fly By Night. Tickets were 5 bucks. Anyone at this show? Although I was fortunate enough to see KISS in the 70s, it wasn't until 4 years later.
A few of us from Oregon Hill went to this concert. I remember it very well. Ran into some girls from southside that went to JFK high school with me.
ReplyDeleteI was at the show. I was standing at the side of the building when it was over. A limo rode past, with a car in hot pursuit. The car stopped and asked if I wanted to come along and I did. We ended up at the Holiday Inn on Franklin and met Gene and Paul.
ReplyDeleteI was there also. I remember how incredibly loud it was and how bad the acoustics were at the Arena. I couldn't remember the date but saw them twice in Richmond during their early years.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was there. Lasting memories of a Great show. Peart's drums were set up on a short riser off the stage behind the stage right PA stack. Watched him warm up a bit before they forklifted the entire rig up on to the stage and manually pushed/dragged it to the middle. Rush was very tight, dynamic and interesting. Kiss was tight, loud and had a great show. Had a feeling I would hear more from that Neil Peart fellow from Rush.
