Proposed Richmond Expressway Toll Plaza - 1960s

Late 60s artist's view of a toll plaza proposed on the Richmond Expressway System. The Richmond-Petersburg Turnpike and a 42 mile stretch of 64 were the only highways in Richmond at the time.

  3. I can't tell where this is supposed to be. I don't know enough about how the rest of the area might have looked prior to I-195 being built; Historic Aerials suggests it might be between Cary Street Rd and Patterson Ave. There's too many trees for it to be anywhere else.
